Publishing Statement
People, Place and Policy (PPP) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal committed to publishing high-quality scholarship that advances understanding of the relationships between people, place, and policy. The journal promotes rigorous research, critical debate, and knowledge exchange between academics, policymakers, practitioners, and communities.
PPP is a UK journal published in English. Articles submitted should be original; they should not have been published before, nor should they be currently under consideration elsewhere.
Open Access
All content published by People, Place and Policy is freely available online immediately upon publication. Readers may access, download, read, and share published articles without subscription or payment, supporting the widest possible dissemination of research and knowledge.
Publication Charges
People, Place and Policy does not charge submission fees, article processing charges (APCs), publication fees, page charges, or publication-related administration fees. Authors are not required to pay any fee at any stage of the submission, peer-review, or publication process.
Publishing Schedule
People, Place and Policy publishes articles online on a continuous basis throughout the year. Following successful peer review and acceptance, articles are published online as Early View publications to facilitate the timely dissemination of research. Published articles are subsequently assigned to a journal issue. The journal publishes three issues per year (Spring, Summer and Autumn/Winter).
Persistent Identification and Discoverability
All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. DOIs provide a permanent and reliable means of identifying, locating, citing, and accessing scholarly content.
To maximise the visibility and discoverability of published research, the journal supports indexing, abstracting, and archiving through appropriate scholarly services and platforms.
Directory of Open Access Journals
People, Place and Policy is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), reflecting the journal’s commitment to quality, transparency, and best practice in open-access publishing.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently by the journal’s editorial team on the basis of scholarly merit, originality, relevance, and quality. Editorial decisions are not influenced by financial, commercial, political, or external interests.
